Custom packaging, built around the product

Every decision starts with what you are packing.

A custom box is a set of decisions made in the right order. We take them with you, from the product's dimensions to the day the boxes arrive, so the packaging fits, protects and presents without a stock-size compromise anywhere in it.

Start with your dimensions
  1. Dimensions and product

Length, width and depth of the product, its weight, and how it is handled decide the box before any print does. We size to the product with just the clearance the insert or tissue needs.

  2. Structure

Rigid box, folding carton, mailer or corrugated, and within each family the closure that suits how the product is sold and opened. If you know the style you want, start from Boxes by Style; if not, we recommend.

  3. Board and material

SBS paperboard for sharp retail print, kraft for a natural surface, corrugated where the box travels, greyboard where weight and a hard edge matter, specialty papers for the outer wrap.

  4. Printing

Full-color CMYK, Pantone brand colors, single-color on kraft, inside and outside. Print-ready artwork is laid onto the dieline we supply, or our team prepares it from your logo.

  5. Lamination and finishes

Lamination is included on every order. Foil stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV are added where the brand needs contrast under the hand or on the shelf.

  6. Inserts and presentation

Board, corrugated, foam or fabric-wrapped inserts cut to the product's footprint, designed together with the box so the two fit as one pack.

  7. Quantity and delivery

From 50 boxes on every structure. Standard production takes approximately 10–12 working days, followed by an additional 3–5 working days for ground shipping, and delivery is free on every order.

Materials & finishing

It has to feel right in the hand.

Board and finishing decide what your packaging feels like before a customer reads a word of it. Paperboard, kraft, corrugated and rigid greyboard — with foil, emboss, spot UV and soft-touch.

  • Chris at Custom Boxez is an asset to any buyer. Attention to detail, speed, and ability to meet design requirements is never an issue. We are a luxury goods manufacturer and deal with low volume/high quality demand orders. Typically, not a favorite of suppliers, but Chris and CBEZ had no issue getting us exactly what we need.

    Benn MaddCustom Boxez customer

  • Custom BoxEZ were great! I spent several days shopping around for providers, and Custom BoxEZ were the most competitive on pricing, had the most responsive and personable customer service, and were extremely professional and helpful in proofing all my designs. I'm definitely going to use them again when I'm due for more boxes!

    Sebastian SchollCustom Boxez customer

  • This company definitely surprised me with the end result. They really took the time to help me with figuring out all the specs I needed and the service was outstanding. Typically I don't write reviews so this is saying a lot about them and their products. If you're looking for high quality and a fast turn around these are your guys for sure.

How it works

From a rough idea to a pallet.

You do not need a dieline, a spec sheet or print-ready artwork to start. You need to know roughly what you are packing.

  1. Tell us what you're packing

Dimensions, weight, quantity and what the box has to survive. A photo or sketch is enough to start.

  2. Dieline & artwork

We issue a flat dieline for your product. Send print-ready artwork, or work with our team on layout and bleed.

  3. Material & finishing

Board, gauge, coating and finishing chosen against your budget and how the product is handled.

  4. Proof & production

You approve a proof before anything runs. Quantities and lead time are stated in writing at that point.

  5. Delivery

Finished packaging delivered free to your door, flat or assembled as the structure requires. Ground shipping adds 3–5 working days after production.

First runs and repeat orders

Built for the first 50 boxes and for every run after.

Custom printed boxes are rarely a one-off. Once a structure is dielined and a proof is approved, the specification stays on file, so reorders, new SKUs and seasonal editions run from the same base without starting again.

  • First production runs

A new product, a launch or a rebrand starts from the product's dimensions and a structure recommendation, with a dieline to design on.

  • Repeat orders

The approved dieline, artwork and specification are kept, so a reorder runs from the same proof at the quantity you need.

  • Multiple SKUs and revisions

Variants share a structure and change the print; a revision changes only what moved. Consistency across the range is kept on the specification, not from memory.

  • Larger requirements

As quantities grow, the same construction is quoted at the higher quantity; unit cost falls as the run length rises.

Why Custom Boxez

A packaging supplier, not a print shop.

Custom, not catalog

Every job is specified from your dimensions. Sizes, structures and finishes are built for your product rather than picked off a fixed list.

Design support included

Our team works on dielines and print-ready artwork with you — including brands arriving with nothing more than a logo.

One specification, start to finish

The dimensions, dieline, board and proof agreed at quote are the ones production runs to, and they stay on file for the next order.

10 years in custom packaging

Quoting, dielines, print and delivery have run for US businesses for ten years, in inches and US board weights, from the first 50 boxes to the repeat run.

Questions

Before you ask.

Anything not covered here, put it in the notes on your quote and we will answer it directly.

Ask on your quote

What is your minimum order quantity for custom boxes?

50 boxes, on every structure from folding cartons to rigid boxes. Unit prices fall as quantities rise, and your quote shows the price at each quantity you ask for.

What do you need from me to produce a quote?

Product dimensions (length × width × depth), the quantity you want priced, the material or finish you have in mind, and what the box is holding. If you are unsure of any of it, send a photo of the product and we will specify it with you.

Can you make a completely custom size?

Yes. Boxes are made to your dimensions rather than selected from stock sizes, and a dieline is cut for your job.

Can you print my logo on the box?

Yes. Logos print in full color, in Pantone brand colors, in a single color on kraft, or as a foil stamp or emboss.

What artwork files do you accept?

Print-ready vector artwork — AI, PDF or EPS — with fonts outlined and images at 300dpi. We supply a dieline template to lay artwork onto. If you do not have print-ready files, our design team will prepare them.

Can I see a sample before committing to a full run?

Standalone samples are chargeable, because making one box or a handful takes the same setup and production steps as a full run. On a qualifying bulk order, once the order is placed we produce a pre-production sample for your approval at no extra sample charge, and the remaining quantity runs after you approve it.

Which materials can you print on?

SBS paperboard, kraft, corrugated fluting, rigid greyboard and specialty papers. Board gauge is matched to the weight of the product and how it is handled.

How long does production take?

Standard production is 10–12 working days from proof approval and payment. Ground shipping adds 3–5 working days, and delivery is free on every order.

Do you make plain shipping cartons?

No. Our work is custom printed packaging made to a product — including custom mailer boxes. For plain commodity cartons, a packaging distributor will serve you better.
